Character Study (1)

As a student athlete in high school you try your best in school, your sport to play at the next level. Going onto College and being able to play at the next level is a blessing no one should take for granted. A tenenager who attended El Paso high school was at the middle of his senior year when he received his eighth offer from a University. He had offers from Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Auburn. This kid was humble, hardworking, and a very caring person. He would donated his time to the community every weekend when he had the chance to by volunteering at the homeless shelter. He was a Captain for his football team and was very much respected by all his teammates, coaches, peers. Throughout the season he was going through problems. One of the major problems was that his little sister becane very sick. His sister meant everything to him and cared so much for her that after every practice he wou...

Tragic Story

An incident where something tragic occurred for me was this past week when my brother hurt his knee during practice. I was at practice as well so I didn’t find out about the news right away. Freshman/Jv were practicing on the practice field as Varsity practiced on the game field. He hurt his leg during a drill and what he told me was that his knee felt weak  that it couldn’t support his weight. He immediately fell down and needed help, coaches attended him as soon as they could’ve. They asked him what was wrong and he explained, they then rushed him to the training room where he got treatment with the AT. When I got home later that night I found out about the news and I was shocked. I talked with him and we were praying that it wouldn’t be too bad, that he would be able to return as soon as 3 weeks. Hoping he would have a speed recovery. The next morning he couldn’t move around very good and struggled to get up from the bed, get around, or bath. He couldn’t go to school so...

Big Question

The Big Question I have is how to become an Architect I suppose. I feel as if it interests me enough to go to college as I put in all those years to accomplish that goal. I’ve done some research about how to become one and what I’ve learned about an architect is a  person who plans, designs, and reviews the construction of buildings. It seems as if the work is complicated as you need to be really precise, focused.  To practice architecture means to provide services in connection with the design of building and its minimum pay is around $76,000 a year.  Students can enroll in a 5-year Bachelor act of Architecture program. I’m planning to do more research over the weekend so I can learn about this profession more.

Tone of the author

The tone of the author is the attitude toward characters, subject, or the audience. Say the author was writing this book 75 years ago, the mood he had toward the book on how the characters were, how it took place, where it took place, or why this happened etc. this all depended on how he felt or what he was thinking. This being his mood which caused him to express his tone in whatever way he felt like writing about, and using the specific words to give off the vibe of the book. Today in class my classmate Pablo was called on to describe tone. He described tone pretty good, he was on the right track and knew what he was saying. Compared to Cynthia’s description of tone it was not as good you can say as she described it as it being a diction. Dr. Preston said his hers was a lot better, but I still think Pablo’s was okay. It was uncommon because it’s rare you here a word like that around your peers.

The making of a satire

Making a satire was pretty interesting because you had the chance to speak on something that’s made fun of a lot, how there can be a change for the better. My Satire was about Donald Trump, the president of the United States. Many people don’t like him due to his racist comments etc. I chose to do my satire on him  because this is one of the things that is made fun of in the real world a lot. I believe if there were to be a change it would make a good difference. I felt like this would’ve been one of the more popular topics to do your satire on because many can relate on that they think Donald Trump isn’t a good president. Therefore you can compare/reflect with others on their satire.

My satire

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, isn’t everyone’s favorite president. I don’t really pay attention to what he’s doing to “improve” America. I’ve heard rumors about deportation and all of the racist things he says towards others. Many people dislike/ hate him but at the end of the day he’s still our president. Many people don’t agree with what he has done so far. Donald Trump is a horrible president in my opinion, pretty sure many others would agree. A rapper YG made a song “F*** Donald Trump”. As you can tell he’s not a big fan of him. On social media he says a lot of uneccesary things. Many Athletes dislike him now do to his tweets, on what he said.

How I learn

During the school week I’m pretty busy with football practice and obviously school. I have 6 classes a day and those are 1. Football weights 2. Econ., 3. Algebra 2, 4. TA, 5. English 4, 6. Art. I wake up at 6:30 every morning and get ready for school then I leave my house around 7:15-7:20. I get to school and attend my first class of the day. After I get breakfast then head over to my next class. I don’t have a 7th period, so I have an hour to hangout before I go to study hall. Study hall is about 35-45 minutes then I get ready for practice which starts at 4. We get out like at 7:30 then I go home, I say hello to my parents, eat dinner, then I do my homework. I start homework around 9 and finish around 10:30. That’s how I manage my time around. I learn/ remember things in a way were I can pop up easy, whether that’s making up a word to remind of something etc. I remember things by writing stuff down where I know I’ll look later later on. My school stuff is always in my back pack ...
8/20/18           Yesterday was my little nephew’s first soccer practice! He has been talking about how he couldn’t wait to start playing soccer. Everytime I asked him “what did you do today”? He always answered today I went to soccer practice with my bestfriend Logan. Knowing that he wasn’t telling the truth I just went along with it to make him happy. He looked funny in his practice clothes along with his tiny cleats. His dad and I drove him to the park. We met his coach and a couple of his teammates. He instantly made a couple friends, they’re names were Ricardo and Johnny. They started to kick around the ball since we were there early. His dad and I stayed for his practice and he loved running around with the other kids. His big smile honestly made it worth it  because it was pretty late and I had just got out of practice then straight over to his practice. I was pretty tired but I didn’t really mind. My nephew has his next practice tomorrow on Frida...
